Employee duties include:
- Perform technical and administrative reviews of National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) stormwater construction permit applications to ensure compliance with best engineering practices and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Conduct administrative and technical reviews of individual WV/NPDES stormwater construction permit applications and draft permits for issuance.
- Interpret and apply federal and state environmental regulations related to stormwater discharges from construction activities.
- Perform engineering audits by comparing approved design plans with field conditions and effectiveness after construction.
- Review engineering plans and provide recommendations for improvements to stormwater protection measures associated with reclamation projects.
- Recommend pollution prevention or discharge elimination methods and calculate drainage volumes to determine appropriate stormwater control structures.
Notes:
- Regular attendance is an essential part of this position.

Minimum Qualifications
Training: Bachelor's degree in any engineering curriculum.
AND
Satisfactory completion of the examination on the fundamentals of engineering (FE).
OR
Current certification in good standing as an Engineer Intern issued by the West Virginia State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.

Preference will be given to applicants who have experience with NPDES permits; Erosion and Sediment Control Plans; Coordination with the US Army Corps of Engineer.
