Our engineering team here at IQVIA NLP, are continuing to develop I2E, our world-class NLP platform. This platform brings the power of text mining to the life sciences and healthcare sectors, helping doctors, nurses, and researchers to understand the underlying meaning within the vast quantities of text that they have at their disposal.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Lead who wants to make a difference to the health of the world.

This opportunity is Hybrid working in the UK or Poland, though the candidate should keep hours that maximize the overlap with the UK head office.

Responsibilities will include:

• Design and development of server-side technologies to scale and deploy our core NLP algorithms using Java, Python, and other tools.
• Leading a highly technical team of Java developers, C++ developers, and automation engineers.
• Occasional design and development of web applications with brilliant UX and design in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Vue.
• Occasional integration of our products with third party technologies.

Core Requirements

To get the most out of working in our team, our ideal candidate will have:

• A desire to keep learning and stay current with new technologies.
• The ability to reason about code and a passion for writing high-quality, well-tested code.
• Degree or equivalent experience in computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related discipline.

Technical Requirements

Our ideal candidate will have most of the following skills and experience:

• In-depth experience server-side development using Java with Gradle or similar.
• Experience building cloud-native services for deployment on AWS with Ansible and Docker.
• Experience in natural language processing, text mining, search, or related disciplines.
• Full-cycle software engineering skills, e.g., OO design, design patterns, automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
