Environmental Engineer
Reports to: EHS Manager

This position will be responsible for environmental compliance programs for the Philadelphia, Milton and Broussard sites. The position will also be responsible for helping to implement the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and reporting sustainability metrics to the corporate headquarters under direction of the EHS Manager. The position will cover management of the fuel tanks and jet fuel A distribution in Philadelphia and Milton. There will be a technician position that will report to the Environmental Engineer who will assist with hazardous waste collection and fuel testing.

- Help develop, implement and achieve an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
- Update and maintain a fully compliant environmental compliance program for air, waste, water
- Update and maintain the Preparedness, Prevention and Contingency (PPC) Plan
- Train supervisors on regulations and requirements and audit their performance
- Manage environmental training of employees
- Ensure all environmental documentation is generated, filed, and submitted as required by each governing authority
- Coordinate data collection and submission of reporting data for corporate environmental and sustainability reports
- Oversee all environmental incident investigations and forward reports to the EHS Manager
- Work with senior AWPC staff on compliance program implementation
- Respond to federal, state, and local authority inquiries
- Manage and maintain the Hazardous Waste program
- Manage and maintain the Residual/Non-Hazardous/Universal Waste program
- Manage all sampling and reporting required for air, water and waste compliance programs for all US sites
- Help provide hands on assistance in aviation fuel management program

- Qualifications for Position:
A. Education
BS in Environmental Studies or related field
B. Experience
3-5 years working in environmental compliance
Regulatory experience with EPA, DEP and Philadelphia regulations
Experience working in an ISO 14001 management system
C. Competencies & Attributes
1.
Ability to work with a diverse population of people of different education backgrounds and train them on EHS Standards in an operations environment
2.
Ability to work with management at all levels to implement EHS Standards
3.
Competency with computer systems, Office, database systems, web based EHS reporting systems
4.
Ability to fill in for haz waste collection and fuel testing. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
D. Licensure/Certification
CHMM or CSP helpful
HAZWOPER 24 or 40 Hour Training preferred
