Client is seeking an experienced and motivated Environmental Engineer II to join our team in Carrollton, GA. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an Environmental Engineer II, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of environmental compliance, regulatory reporting, waste management, and environmental performance improvement.
YOUR KEY DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Coordinating regulatory compliance activities including inspections, air and water permitting, and regulatory reporting.
- Conducting management reviews in accordance with ISO 14001 certification requirements.
- Developing and tracking environmental objectives and targets, reporting progress to management.
- Staying up-to-date with changes in environmental legislation and initiatives.
- Acting as a liaison with regulatory agencies, industry trade groups, customers, and suppliers.
- Monitoring performance, implementing strategies, and evaluating environmental data.
- Participating in environmental education and training initiatives.
- Serving as a subject matter expert on environmental legal requirements and policies.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address environmental issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Communicating environmental regulations, best practices, and company standards to personnel.
- Assisting in budget forecasts, implementation, and administration.
- Managing environmental programs, projects, and compliance-related activities.
- Conducting environmental compliance training and orientation sessions.
- Developing and implementing environmental strategies for sustainable development.
- Designing and maintaining environmental management systems and procedures.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive responsibility in environmental engineering.
- Strong understanding of environmental compliance issues, regulations, and best practices.
- Experience with ISO 14001 certification.
- Proven track record of working in a manufacturing environment.
- Commercial awareness and business acumen.
- Problem-solving skills using systems thinking and process management.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication across all levels of an organization.
