Environmental Services Engineer

    • JOB SUMMARY
      • Requires working every other weekend/holiday and on call as scheduled, overtime as needed and approved by managers. Performs Environmental Services Engineer tasks which involve collection of soiled linen and trash, floor/scrub/buff/strip/refinish, carpet extraction/bonnet , upholstery cleaning, walls/vent/light fixture washing, and other projects according to established procedures, and may be required to work in all areas of the hospital including sterile and isolation areas. Performs in a teamwork environment and may be asked to do other duties within Environmental Services Department as assigned which may require other general cleaning duties during staffing shortages (medical or vacation). Requires working every other weekend/holiday and on call as scheduled, overtime as needed and approved by managers.
    • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
      • Professional & Technical Skills
        • Successful completion of hospital and department orientation and training; Must be able to read and understand labels, directions and policies. Able to operate floor care machines and perform daily maintenance. (Example: Buffers, auto scrubber, sweepers, carpet extractor, wet vacs, auto - tower, electric dumpsters).
      • Education
        • High School Diploma or GED preferred. Must be able to read instructions in English

      • Other Skills or Requirements
        • Customer service oriented personality. Two years of Environmental Services Engineerial experience preferred but not required. Ability to learn and use computer system.
      • Skilled to Care for Certain Age-Related Patient Groups (incumbents will be skilled in the care of the following patient groups)
