Exercise Physiologist: Cardiac Rehabilitation
Job Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- The Exercise Physiologist assists participants in Rehabilitation program in achieving his/her optimal functional capacity through exercise, education, and risk factor modification.
- This role provides appropriate assessments, interventions and evaluation of patients with consideration of developmental milestones.
- Identifies safety concerns in age-related population and institutes appropriate measures.
- Monitors cardiac dysrhythmia.
- Conducts new participant orientation.
- Documents timely and accurately participant activities, progress, and patient education provided.
- Utilizes appropriate resources regarding participant problems or unusual responses to exercise.
- Cleans and stocks work area.
- Trains new employees and offers assistance to less experienced employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or related field required.
- Previous experience in dysrhythmia detection and identification required.
- Master's Degree in related field preferred.
- Experience with EKG monitoring/education preferred.
Certifications Required
Current BLS Certification required.
Cardiac Rehabilitation
ACLS required within first year of employment.
