The Exercise Physiologist will be responsible for providing health and fitness, educational, preventive, corrective, and/or other services within scope of practice to a wide variety of client and/or patient populations. The Exercise Physiologist will have advanced knowledge in the specialty of Orthopaedics, creating exercise and/or care plans for assigned clients and/or patients within applicable programs.

In addition, this role will support movement screening initiatives by conducting on-site screenings, educating participants on screening results, supporting follow-up recommendations, and assisting with related program coordination. The Exercise Physiologist will serve as a single point of contact for assigned clients and/or patients for the purpose of effectively communicating the appropriate exercise plan and/or plan of care, and for coordinating related activities with physicians, other members of the healthcare team, and/or other applicable groups or persons.

This position is a hybrid role and requires residence in the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) region. Local travel throughout the DMV area is required and may account for up to approximately 50% of work time based on screening schedules, client needs, and program demands. Minimal nationwide travel may also be required on request.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Administer wellness assessments and functional screenings both in person and virtually, using results to create and monitor comprehensive, integrated, and effective preventive and/or fitness programs.

2. Provide evidence-based guidance and health education expertise, consultancy, and advocacy to support a comprehensive program individualized to each assigned client and/or patient.

3. Utilize interactive software to coordinate and evaluate assigned clients and/or patients.

4. Monitor, report, and respond to client and/or patient deviations and non-adherence to applicable exercise program.

5. Address client and/or patient issues, questions, and follow up telephonically and electronically, escalating to the appropriate person(s) as necessary.

6. Serve as a point of contact/liaison for assigned clients and/or patients facilitating communication, referrals, and appointments amongst a multidisciplinary team.

7. Conduct associated administrative functions as required including but not limited to Excel reporting and statistical analysis.

8. Document interactions and information in the applicable software.

9. Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.

10. Collaborates with leaders of Rehab Therapy to ensure programs are aligned and appropriate.

11. Coordinate and support on-site screening events, including equipment setup, operation, participant flow, and event execution.

12. Represent MedVanta professionally at employer, athletic, fitness, military, community, and other partner events.

13. Travel throughout the DMV region and occasionally nationwide to support screening initiatives, client needs, training activities, conferences, and business development opportunities.

Required Education & Experience

1. Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, or health-related field

2. 2+years of relevant experience required

3. Strong experience in the orthopedic field

4. Experience documenting client and/or patient information in applicable software and/or electronic medical record.

5. Experience creating and coordinating exercise and/or care plans, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team.

6. Comfortable presenting and educating individuals and groups in both one-on-one and group settings.

7. Experience conducting movement assessments, functional screenings, fitness evaluations, orthopedic rehabilitation, athletic performance testing, or related services preferred.

8. Telehealth experience a plus.

9. Must have access to a high-speed internet connection.

10. Must reside within the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) metropolitan area.

11. Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

12. Ability and willingness to travel locally up to approximately 50% of work time and occasionally travel nationwide based on business needs.

12. Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in the English language.

Physical Demands

1. Must be able to sit for long periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds.

2. Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics techniques when performing desk duties.

3. Must be able to transport, set up, and break down screening equipment and materials for on-site events.

4. Must be able to stand for extended periods while conducting screenings, educational sessions, and related activities.

5. Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting.

6. Adequate hearing to perform duties in person and over telephone.

7. Must be able to communicate clearly to clients/patients in person and over the telephone.

8. Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading materials from printed sources and computer screens.

Travel Requirements:

1. Must reside within the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) metropolitan area.

2. Local travel throughout the DMV region is required and may account for up to approximately 50% of work time.

3. Occasional nationwide travel may be required based on business needs, client engagements, conferences, training, or screening initiatives.

4. Approved mileage and business travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with MedVanta's travel and expense reimbursement policies.
