Madigan Army Medical Center is seeking an Infection Control Program Manager to join our growing team! Madigan is a premier Military Medical Facility, Level II Trauma Center with multiple medical specialty services and graduate medical education platform.

The Infection Control/ Prevention Nurse Program Manager plans, develops, directs, implements, and evaluates infection control/prevention within the main hospital and outlining clinics.

Located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest on the Puget Sound, in Washington State, Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) is near the city of Lakewood, 10 minutes from Tacoma and 20 minutes from Olympia, the state capitol. JBLM is situated in a key location along Interstate 5, allowing easy access to Seattle, Tacoma, and the welcoming neighboring communities. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the planning, designing, and performance of the functions of the Madigan Infection Control Program.
  • Instructs hospital staff in proper infection control procedures.
  • Supervises the investigation of infection control issues and the follow-up care for patients exposed to infectious diseases.
  • Gathers and analyzing infection data to make evidence-based decisions.
  • Educates Medical and Public Health professionals on infection prevention protocols to facilitate emergency preparedness.
  • Assists with the development of action plans in case of a community or hospital outbreak to minimize the potentially devastating impact.
  • Collaborates with government agencies such as the CDC to ensure that infection control practices are implemented and enforced.
  • Studyies pathogens to determine origin to prevent future outbreaks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

Must be a US Citizen.

CIC -- Professional Certification Infection Control is a plus; however if not certified, will support educational preparation to achieve CIC certification and reimburse testing fees upon successful certification.
