Laboratory Medical Scientist Senior
Job Description
Responsible for leading the daily work assignments and technical performance of laboratory technical staff, including medical laboratory scientists, medical technicians, and technical assistants. Operates, maintains, and performs advanced troubleshooting on complex laboratory analyzers. Performs daily evaluation and interpretation of test results, quality control, and proficiency samples. Assist laboratory staff and Medical Center personnel with problem resolution, technical assistance, and result look-up. Leads the training of new employees and/or Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician students and interns. Maintains adequate inventory of supplies, and perform the duties of the Supervisor/Manager in his/her absence.
Qualifications
Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Scientist or in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciences with additional successful completion of at least one year of training or pertinent full-time laboratory experience meeting standards for technical personnel specified in Chapter 44, Chapter IV, Section 8:44-2.6 of the New Jersey State Sanitary Code. ASCP certification/eligibility as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, HEW, AMT, or California, Florida, or New York State Certification required. Requires the analytic ability to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional, scientific, technical and mathematical principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems, or design relatively complex systems and programs. Requires the ability to exchange information on factual matters and/or relay patient's needs to appropriate personnel.

The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc." The salary range does not include incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation.
