Lead Clinical Exercise Physiologist
Summary
Leads and mentors interns and clinical staff in exercise monitoring, progression, education, and development of individualized treatment plans for patients in all phases of rehabilitation. Takes a lead role in assignment of daily responsibilities and facilitates communication among the team members through daily huddles, staff meetings, and department specific education such as annual competencies. Collaborates with department manager and the cardiac rehab team in leading performance improvement initiatives and helps establish department goals in alignment with the goals and objectives of St. Clair Health.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in exercise physiology or related field and certification through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (RCEP).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification, or ability to obtain certification within three months of hire.
- Fundamental understanding of personal computers and familiarity with the Windows operating system and Microsoft software programs.
- At least 3 years of experience in a cardiac and pulmonary rehab setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 5 years experience working as a clinical exercise physiologist in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation.
- Advanced certifications such as AACVPR - CCRP, Health Coaching, Diabetes Educator (CDCES) or other related certification.
