Job Summary:
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) performs analysis of blood, urine, stool, and body fluids. They are responsible for evaluating reports based on the clinical and analytical conditions and also responsible for maintaining the quality of the Laboratory testing.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related discipline required. Registry or Certification by professional organization such as the ASCP or equivalent is required. Continuation of employment is contingent on passing of ASCP or equivalent within 18 months of hire.
- Ability to read, speak and write English effectively.
Related Experience
Preferred:
• At least one year experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician with above average performance.
Status: Casual, as needed
Shift - Variable
What you will do:
- Collect appropriate specimen samples as required.
- Ensure specimen identification is accurate when aliquoting specimens and resulting tests.
- Demonstrates competency in performance of analytical laboratory tests on blood, urine, and other boy fluids or specimens according to laboratory policy.
- Evaluates test results in light of the patient's clinical condition and analytical testing conditions according to laboratory policy.
