Employment Status: Full-Time (.75 or greater)
Hours per Pay Period: 1.00 = 80 hours every two weeks (Non-Exempt)
Starting Wage DOE: $34.41 - $40.43
The hospital Medical Laboratory Scientist(MLS) is responsible for performing high complexity clinical laboratory testingin one or more sections of the laboratory with full responsibility for qualitycontrol and quality assurance in accordance with CLIA regulatory requirementsand standards. Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is responsible for specimenprocessing, test performance and for reporting test results. Additionalcharacteristics for the Lead Role: Acts as a lead for an assigned area ofdepartment, including assisting with the day to day operations of thedepartment, responsible for quality control and regulatory readiness ofdepartment.
This position may be eligible for a $7500.00 sign on incentive, relocation, and tuition loan repayment.
Essential Job Functions
• Supports and models behaviors consistent with BillingsClinic's mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and serviceexpectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agencystandards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or jobperformance.
• Collects and prepares test samples according toestablished procedures and policies. (Patient Care, Lab, Specimen Collection)
• Performs waived, moderate and high complexity testspecimen analysis according to established policies and procedures. (PatientCare, Lab, Specimen Analysis)
• Evaluates, interprets and validates test data prior toreporting. Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect testperformance or reporting of test results and either correct the problem orimmediately notify leadership. Responsible to adhere to and follow thelaboratory's established policies and procedures whenever testing systems arenot within the laboratory's defined acceptable levels of performance. • Maintains daily operations of the laboratory/departmentto include, but not limited to calibration and maintenance of equipment;maintains adequate working inventory. Adheres to quality control policies,documents all quality control activities, instrument and proceduralcalibrations and maintenance performed. Document all corrective actions takenwhen test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performancespecifications. (Patient Care, Lab, Lab Equipment )

Minimum Qualifications
Education
• Montanalocations Current or eligible for Montana State licensure as a MedicalLaboratory Scientist (MLS) or ability to become licensed
Certifications and Licensure
• ASCP, AMT or equivalent certification will beconsidered
