Summary of Job Duties:
This position is for a Medical Laboratory Scientist I within the Cell Therapy Lab at UAMS. This position is responsible for processing, freezing, and storing hematopoietic progenitor cells (HPC), as well as participating in the thawing and transplant of these cells for cancer patients. This position performs high complexity testing on both patient samples and HPC products.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or other science related field
- Eligible for ASCP Certification. Must obtain certification within 1 year of eligibility.
Additional Information:
Job Requirements:
- Staining and running Flow Cytometer on both patient samples and product samples per standard operating procedures.
- Thawing HPC products and preparing them for transplant, following standard operating procedures without compromising the integrity of the product.
- Processing, Freezing and Storing HPC products per standard operating procedures while maintain product safety and effectiveness.
- Monitor all quality paperwork and preventative maintenance schedules for completeness and accuracy.
- Monitor cryogenic tanks and troubleshoot as necessary.
- Participate in discarding of products from cryogenic tanks, as applicable.
- Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare and assemble processing and thawing paperwork with 100% accuracy
