Medical Physicist, Senior
Position Summary
Clinical Physicist Opportunity - Orlando Health Cancer Institute
Orlando Health Cancer Institute is seeking a dedicated clinical physicist to join our dynamic team-where on-site clinical coverage and patient-centered care are core values. If you're looking to be part of a progressive clinic equipped with nearly all emerging technologies and want to collaborate with an outstanding group of physicists, physicians, and dosimetrists, we encourage you to apply!
Qualifications
Applicants must have:
- A minimum of a Master's degree
- ABR certification or be a recent graduate of a CAMPEP-accredited Medical Physics Residency program working toward certification
- Board-certified or board-eligible status (both are encouraged to apply)
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication
We will tailor the position based on desired location and departmental clinical coverage guidelines.
Clinical Support
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive clinical support at either our downtown photon/proton clinics or one of our regional care centers, depending on experience and qualifications. This could also be a great opportunity for a junior physicist to join and work alongside a senior staff member as they work toward board certification.

Our department treats over 200 patients daily across five locations in the greater Orlando area, with expansion underway in St. Petersburg. Our equipment includes:
- 6 matched Varian TrueBeams
- Varian Edge and Ethos
- Elekta Synergy
- ViewRay MRIDian
- Mevion S250 Proton-Therapy System
- 2 Varian Bravos HDR units
- 6 CT simulators
- Upcoming addition: Elekta Unity MR-LINAC
Treatment planning is performed using full-scale Eclipse/ARIA deployed through Citrix.
Team Culture & Growth
We value a team-first attitude, collaboration, and enthusiasm for clinical medical physics. Physicists are expected to participate in our CAMPEP-accredited residency program and may engage in clinical research (optional). Our current team includes:
- 10 photon-clinic physicists
- 2 proton-clinic physicists
- 2 therapy physics residents
- 2 medical physics assistants
- 3 IT/CE liaisons
- 1 medical physics research fellow
We work closely with 15 highly engaged Radiation Oncologists and 12 certified Medical Dosimetrists, all of whom rely heavily on physicist involvement. Our department is experiencing significant growth, with multiple expansion opportunities across Central Florida and into Alabama.
Senior-level physicist compensation includes annual merit increases and a leader-incentive bonus ranging from 8-12%.
