Pay Rate: $31.14/hour on 1099
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Microbiologist to perform microbiological and molecular testing on clinical specimens. The role involves identification of enteric pathogens using culture-based and advanced molecular techniques, while ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform microbiological testing including culture, biochemical tests, serotyping, and EIA
- Conduct molecular testing such as PCR and Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS)
- Isolate and identify organisms including Salmonella, E. coli, Shigella, Vibrio, Listeria, and Campylobacter
- Extract nucleic acids using manual and automated methods
- Analyze, interpret, and report test results accurately
- Maintain laboratory documentation and records in compliance with CLIA regulations
- Perform quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) procedures
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
- Monitor inventory and ensure availability of lab supplies
- Assist in preparing reports and data analysis
- Follow all laboratory safety protocols and procedures
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Science (Biology or related field preferred)
- Strong knowledge of microbiology principles and laboratory practices
- Experience handling clinical specimens and performing lab testing
- Familiarity with laboratory safety standards and CLIA regulations
- Ability to operate laboratory instruments and equipment
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of laboratory experience
- Experience in a molecular biology laboratory
- Hands-on experience with PCR, sequencing, or similar techniques
Work Environment:
- On-site laboratory setting
- Exposure to biological and potentially hazardous specimens
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
