Summary
Dr. Vivien Yin is seeking an Applied Postdoctoral Fellow to join her team in the Department of Biostatistics & Bioinformatics. Dr. Yin's research focuses on developing and applying innovative statistical methods for oncology trials, with emphasis on master protocol designs, adaptive enrichment strategies, causal machine learning, and real-world evidence integration. Her group collaborates closely with clinical investigators across Moffitt and national cooperative groups to ensure that statistical innovations translate into clinical impact.
Position Highlights:
• Moffitt integrates excellent patient care with cutting-edge clinical and basic research. Having a cancer hospital on-site provides unique opportunities for clinical and translational research.
• Conduct methodological and collaborative research on advanced trial designs, such as platform trials, adaptive enrichment, causal machine learning, dose optimization, and real-world data-based designs.
• Work in an interdisciplinary environment with direct access to clinical trials and translational data, including applications in rare pediatric cancers and hematologic malignancies.
• Receive outstanding mentorship to develop your independent research agenda and support for T32 or other training grant applications.
• Engage with an experienced biostatistics faculty group with broad expertise and NIH-funded research programs.
The Ideal Candidate:
• Demonstrated interest and/or experience in clinical trials, adaptive or Bayesian designs, causal inference, or machine learning methods.
• Strong programming skills in R or Python and a commitment to reproducible research.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and evaluate innovative statistical methodology aligned with the lab's research areas.
• Conduct statistical components of collaborative projects and contribute to manuscripts and presentations.
• Participate in grant writing, and dissemination of software tools and workflows.
• Contribute to training activities in the department as needed.
Credentials and Qualifications:
• PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field.
• Have at least one first author publication.
