Process Chemist

We are seeking a process developer, process chemist or food engineer to join our customer focused scientific team. The is a perfect role for a recent graduate, upcoming college graduate, or individual with 1-2 years of experience! You will have the opportunity to flourish in a collaborative environment that also encourages independent thinking and discovery.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct analytical, experimental, investigative using standard scientific methods and practical laboratory processes / techniques to support our research scientists in the areas of food and beverage and formulation development for the Food Colors business.
  • You will assist in the development of application expertise, effective equipment utilization, and personnel training related to new innovations. Your creative work will be applied to R&D projects and new product development for successful new product launches,
  • Utilize critical thinking, intense curiosity, attention to detail, assimilate and synthesize information, and objective evaluation of approaches to enhance Sentients' business.
  • Represent Sensient Food Colors LLC at conferences and customer presentations. Assist Innovation Scientists in the development of key platforms by performing trials, analyzing data, interpreting and recording results of assigned projects.
  • Observe, calculates, records and interprets the results of tests and analyses, and constructs, modifies and calibrates equipment used for these purposes or devised as a result of the work.


What You'll Bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Biochemistry or another science-based field.
  • Critical thinking, intense curiosity, and attention to detail. The ability to independently gather facts, plan and execute experiments, and objectively evaluate data and present to a diverse audience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to assimilate and synthesize information, and to objectively evaluate approaches.
  • Ability to work in a structured and diligent manner with a high degree of precision.
