Consults with Cardiac Rehab patients to assess and implement cardiopulmonary rehabilitative health needs. Helps develop positive lifestyle habits for the patients in order to help them recover and maintain maximum health to prevent any associated complications. Monitors each patient's heart function, and designs customized programs that include nutritional counseling, supervised exercise, emotional support, and education about other lifestyle changes. Required to run multiple exercise classes for patients and convey their progress reports to their respective cardiologist. Proficient in EKG monitoring and checking patient vitals during class times. Obtains lipid profiles for patients, as well as performs mock cardiac codes for the cardiac rehab staff. First responder for emergency situations in Cardiac Rehab. Competent with the use of an AED and portable oxygen.
