Contributes to the discovery and development of novel therapeutics for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Supports our discovery organization focused on sample preparation for in vitro and in vivo studies to advance projects from discovery to development. Works with the Protein Sciences team in preparing samples & SOPs/COAs for preclinical studies. Supports the scientists in the group with primary or secondary purifications and early analytical characterizations. Work closely with our Informatics group to maintain sample inventory and upload final QC documents.
Key Accountabilities/Core Job Responsibilities:
- Work closely with members of the Protein Sciences team to prepare large-molecule biotherapeutics for preclinical in vivo and in vitro studies, including analytics, inventory and storage, and shipment to external CROs.
- Prepare standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for key biotherapeutic candidates.
- Deliver purified biotherapeutic proteins to project teams in support of study and development timelines.
- Collaborate with Bioinformatics and cross-functional team members to establish and continuously improve tools for sample registration and tracking.
- Maintain accurate and well-organized documentation, including records in Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELNs).
- Communicate results proactively and clearly with team members, and address questions in a timely manner.
- Coordinate activities with functional groups and project teams to support timelines and operational efficiency.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Typically, Bachelor's degree in a related scientific discipline with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- General understanding of protein and antibody biochemical and/or biophysical characterization.
- Completion of at least one laboratory course in biology, chemistry, or biophysics, or equivalent experience in a laboratory environment.
- Hands-on experience with biochemistry techniques, including protein quantitation, protein purification, and/or biophysical or biochemical assays.
- Proficiency with standard office and scientific software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $117,000.00 . Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
