PURPOSE:
The purpose of this role is to create outstanding and effective creative solutions which promote brand integrity and help inspire and delight our clients by taking them beyond their expectations. The Senior Designer: Packaging will drive innovation in stunning graphics and consumer packaging, helping 1HQ reach new creative heights. This role will take design direction from various Creative Directors based in the UK and Netherlands.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage projects from concept to completion, helping to deliver to our customers the 'best + beyond' creative solution in the most efficient manner.
  • Work closely with the client services and creative team to strengthen customer relationships.
  • Work on creative projects in isolation as well as a part of a team to inspire and drive great design from those around you, particularly directing and mentoring junior and mid weight members of the creative force.
  • Keep in close contact with your mentors through the design process, learning as well as challenging them creatively.
  • Work with the 1HQ strategy team to help shape and evolve brands from the outset, through to directing and motivating our visualising team, photography art direction
  • (in and out of the studio) as well as working closely with our implementation and artwork team.
  • Present creative work with clarity both internally and externally direct to clients and in doing so project the passion and insight that helps make these ideas both relevant, unique and creatively inspiring.
  • Work collaboratively and passionately adopting a fluid approach to clients and projects and tailoring design tasks to suit the needs of each brief.
  • Have a confident presence at photoshoots where a client may be present, using your experience to direct the creative.
  • Set the vision and drive concepts and strategies through the whole creative and development process.
  • Act as a brand guardian for assigned projects and be a fountain of knowledge to your peers
  • Manage and mentor others to help them perform at their peak and grow in their careers.
  • Expertise in packaging design with a strong portfolio full of ideas and concepts - mandatory
  • Experience working on multitude of touch points
  • Strong implementation experience



REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, or similar degree - mandatory
  • 5-7 years of experience in creative or design within an agency or in-house creative team. - mandatory
  • Located close to the local region office for frequent meetings and working sessions.
  • Strong understanding of creative deliverables across design and digital production.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Digital portfolio required at time of application.
  • Hybrid position that would require occasion trips into office locations and various in-person meetings as needed.
  • Fluent English speaker - bilingual or professional proficiency.
  • A high level of competence of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Familiarity with AI and a desire to keep up with the latest technology and AI capabilities.
  • Ability to interact with creative and account management teams, generating impactful motion solutions built on solid strategic foundations.
  • Ability to think independently, self-start, and run projects from start to finish in a remote environment.
  • Ability to interpret and interrogate creative briefs.
  • Ability to bounce back from feedback and deliver creative solutions.
  • Excellent organisational skills, balancing creativity with meeting deadlines.
  • People skills that build confidence and trust with clients and collaborators.
  • Articulate and inspire when presenting ideas and giving feedback.
  • Ability to pitch concepts to clients and communicate big ideas clearly.
