Position Overview
The Senior Environmental Engineer serves as a senior technical expert supporting complex state and federal environmental projects. This role provides high-level project support, advanced technical analysis, and regulatory strategy, particularly for remediation and groundwater-focused projects. The position will backfill senior-level project execution and technical oversight responsibilities within the group.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership on complex environmental projects, including Superfund and Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP) sites.
- Conduct and oversee advanced groundwater statistical analysis and hydrogeologic evaluations.
- Prepare and review risk assessments and remedial action evaluations.
- Support remedial design and oversee remediation implementation activities.
- Prepare and review technical memoranda, regulatory submittals, and remediation-related implementation reports.
- Serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert on state and federal regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and clients on complex project requirements.
- Support proposal development, scope preparation, and technical budgeting.
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance on complex site investigations and remediation strategies.
- Ensure all work products meet high standards of quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Registered Geologist (RG) license in Missouri (required).
- Designated Environmental Professional (EP).
- Strong experience with groundwater statistical analysis and risk assessment.
- Demonstrated experience supporting Superfund and Voluntary Cleanup Program projects.
- Experience with remedial design and remediation implementation reporting.
- Strong technical writing and regulatory communication skills.
Travel Requirements
• This position requires infrequent travel, approximately up to 20% of the time, in support of business
objectives and client engagements. Travel may be both scheduled and on short notice, depending on
project needs. Destinations typically include job sites, field locations, or regional offices, where work may
be conducted in outdoor or operational environments. Adherence to all company safety protocols and
use of PPE is required during travel and on-site work.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- This position primarily works in office environment, with infrequent fieldwork or field visits/meetings.
- The physical requirements for this position may include and are not limited to:
- Ability to stand, walk, drive, and operate equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, stoop, pull, kneel, climb, balance, lift, carry, and push as required for fieldwork and inspections.
- Ability to speak and hear effectively to communicate in noisy environments and with project teams.
