Software QA Engineer II
Job OverviewWe are seeking a Software Quality Engineer II with 4-6 years of experience in Manual Testing, API Validation, and Database Testing. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ensuring software quality through comprehensive testing practices, validating REST APIs, and performing backend data verification using SQL databases. Exposure to test automation frameworks is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements and develop test scenarios and test cases.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end manual testing.
- Validate REST APIs using Postman, including request/response verification and business logic validation.
- Execute database testing and data validation using PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Write and execute SQL queries to verify data accuracy and integrity.
- Identify, document, track, and retest defects through resolution.
- Collaborate with developers and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality releases.
- Review application logs, API responses, and database records to troubleshoot issues.
- Maintain test documentation and provide test execution results.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and automation adoption efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 4-6 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
- Strong hands-on experience in Manual Testing.
- Proven experience with API Testing and Validation using Postman.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
- Experience creating and executing test cases and test plans.
- Understanding of defect management and software testing methodologies.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to automation testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or similar frameworks.
- Understanding of CI/CD and modern software development practices.
- Experience testing microservices-based applications.
