STUDENT MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST

JOB SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, performs tests for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease, and

performs related duties, following established standards and practices.

Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Completion of all prerequisite courses in anticipation of graduation from Trinity Health System's School of Medical Laboratory Science Program or equivelant Bachelors of Science Program.

License/Certification:

Experience: Successful completion of a clinical practicum rotation with proven competency.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Successfully performs and results required tests according to policies and procedure

and in a timely manner.

• Performs and maintains established department quality control testing and proficiency

testing

• Print and review departmental outstanding reports and exception reports.
• Performs and documents required equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Willingness to take on extra responsibilities and performs tasks without being instructed to do so.
• Maintains all reagents and supplies in each department.
• Enhances professional growth and development through participating in educational

programs, current literature, in-services, meetings and workshops.
