2026 Salary Range: $89,508.00-$138,370.00/Yearly with locality (includes locality)

To serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Environmental Section. Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Environmental Section, ensuring that (functional work area) complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Exercises 1st level technical and administrative supervisory personnel management responsibilities for 25% or more duty time. Represents the Environmental element with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Communicates and coordinates base Environmental matters with higher headquarters, regulatory agencies and community officials as needed. Directs the development and execution of the Environment budget.

Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license may be required.
May be required to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Force during exercises or in the event of an actual emergency.
Professional registration or license in one of the 50 states or territories is desired but not required.
The work requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance. The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of professional engineering/scientific principles, practices, techniques, regulations, and procedures to effectively perform supervisory functions associated with environmental compliance and restoration project development, execution, training, and advisory services.
Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management; common business and economic principles, theories, concepts, and procedures; financial management principles and standards; and of the Department of Defense (DoD) planning, programming and budgeting system (PPBS).
Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
Skill in evaluating state-of-the-art scientific and engineering technologies and incorporating into environmental compliance and restoration.
Ability to analyze, plan, organize, and direct the work operations to meet program requirements and objectives with available resources; and to mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with senior officials from a broad array of activities, including federal and local government, and industry.
