Program Manager - Real World Insights

Role Overview:

Provide oversight and orchestration of resourcing, budget, scope, timelines and performance for large and complex IQVIA RWI enterprise-wide programs. A successful program is measured by a delighted client and a seamless execution.

Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience managing large, complex projects that focus on data warehousing, data integration, and reporting for the Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences industries. Familiar with many of the datasets commonly used by commercial and real-world evidence organizations within Pharma such as prescription data, longitudinal patient medical and pharmaceutical claims and electronic medical records. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Principal Accountabilities:

This position primary accountability is to balance delighting the client with successful project management and execution and/or seamless integration of multiple internal workstreams and reporting structures indicative of a large organization, such as IQVIA. Because of the multiple internal and external matrices, longevity of this organization and innovative approaches it is important to have the following skills:

  • Project Resourcing
    • Partner with multiple stakeholders across the IQVIA organization to develop a resourcing plan necessary to support the delivery of the proposed solution.
    • Communicate resourcing plan necessary to inform pricing during proposal development and inform project plans moving forward
  • Project Plan Creation and Integration
    • For smaller projects, develop detailed project plans that will drive successful delivery as per the agreed upon scope
    • For larger projects, build an integrated work breakdown structure, applying both Agile and/or standard waterfall methodologies to efficiently deliver to client and SOW expectations
    • Alignment entails top-down vision, goals and objectives from business strategy flowing through to successful completion of programs for program objectives
  • Execute with urgency
    • Building relationships and rallying teams towards a common goal in a more urgent time constriction than is typically evidenced during ongoing support
  • Risk & Issue Management
    • Anticipating and mitigating risks and issues efficiently and highlighting process improvements where necessary
  • Anticipation is effectively executed through workstream monitoring
    • Reporting and escalating risks pre-emptively to prevent program impact (issues)
  • Coordination and Prioritization through Program Governance
    • Initiate and maintain senior client leader engagement early in program execution to ensure there is an efficient process in place to mobilize resources, budget or realign timelines around issues
  • Process Improvement
    • Refining standard operating procedures and documentation to increase operational efficiencies

Role & Responsibility:

  • Comply with RWI Technology project and program management standards and procedures
  • Responsible for managing the Budget, Scope, Timelines and client satisfaction of complex enterprise programs, reporting into the tier 1 strategist position
  • Initiate and coordinate new program Kick-off schedule and handoff of production-ready program to Ongoing Support Program
  • Develop professional, productive relationships with peers and subordinates that allows for the development of synergy, transparency and partnership within and between all departments delivering service to your client(s)
  • Be accountable for risk management strategies
  • Plan and set integrated program goals and milestones
  • Chair Program Status Meetings and Updates
  • Manage change control on a program through GO LIVE
  • Conduct internal and external Steering Committee with key IQVIA and client stakeholders
  • Pro-actively anticipate and solve project and program issues effectively
  • Oversee the project work streams and managing conflicts across work streams
  • Recognize and document areas of organizational improvement at IQVIA and with customers and develop plans for implementing them with help from the tier 1 strategist position
  • Oversee account finance process for revenue recognition and invoicing/billing activities

Minimum Education, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge Required:

  • 10+ years of Program Management experience managing enterprise data warehouse or similar projects in the life science or healthcare industries
  • Demonstrated ability to set and achieve stretch goals quickly, while possessing strong people skills
  • 4-year undergraduate or more advanced degree
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Project, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Big Data Technologies- Hadoop, HIVE, or Spark
  • Good organization, presentation, and customer service skills
